Berocca should be ashamed of themselves

I don’t get it; why would you want to copy one of the most iconic music videos and turn it into a bland advertisement for your vitamin supplement? Is it even legal?

Great to see that I’m not the only one thinking that. It’s apparently a quite old ad, just making it’s way to Denmark now.

Here’s an article from ’08: http://adlands.wordpress.com/2008/04/09/plagiarism-corner-3-berocca-vs-ok-go/
And there’re plenty more from a couple of years back. It would seem someone would’ve stopped it in the meantime if it was actually illegal.

But whether or not it’s illegal does not change the fact, that it’s pathetic and massively uncool! Screw you Berocca/Bayer!

As my girlfriend pointed out yesterday when we talked about it: What if EMI gave them the “go” on copying this idea? Ok Go split with EMI recently because EMI don’t understand anything about viral videos (e.g. you can’t embed the Ok Go video that “inspired” Berocca), so it wouldn’t be that weird if EMI also gave the permission to copy the idea.

But still. Uncool. Get your own ideas.
